What to Expect

Relax, you are going to look amazing and love your new brows! As you read below you will learn you are very involved in the process of creating your best brows.

DAY OF APPOINTMENT

  • Please come with your brows filled in how you normally wear them—don’t worry we’ll be wiping any makeup off. If you don’t typically fill them in then don’t worry about it. This is just to see what you’re used to seeing every day.

  • When you arrive we’ll chat about your brows, clean them off and take some pictures. Then mark points out on your face and start drawing the shape of one brow. The shape is drawn out with a black, wax pencil that looks bold so please pay no attention to the color or harshness, just the overall shape. Once you approve the shape, we’ll move on to matching the other brow!

  • When you love both brows, I’ll clean up any stray hairs and apply the numbing cream which will sit for 20-30 minutes.

  • Then we begin! The actual microblading/ powder brows takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes and we will be numbing you again halfway so pain is very minimal.

  • When you leave your skin may be red if you have sensitive skin, but most people look normal, but with BOMB-looking brows. You can continue your day as normal but avoid being in the direct sunlight so no beach/boat days afterward.

DAY TO WEEK AFTER

  • Most likely you’ll wake up the first morning after and think, “UGH THESE ARE DARK!”. Don’t worry, you’re going to feel more emotions about your eyebrows in the next week than you have your whole life but trust the process. Here’s what to expect:

  • Day 1- Brows will be dark, feel warm in color, possibly be tender to the touch.

  • Day 2-4- You’re now used to how dark they are and you like it.

  • Day 5-7- A little itchy, starting to lift and maybe peel.

  • Day 7-10- Brow are shedding the light scab that formed and you feel they are very light.

  • After your brows have shed the scab they’ll feel light. You’ve just gotten used to how dark and vibrant the scab was and also this is a two step process so we can always go darker and denser in the touch-up.

Post-Care PMU Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to ensure proper healing from the procedure:

It is very important that you wash the eyebrow area very gently during the first 14 days as your fresh brows heal. Do not rub the brows for any reason. After cleansing, please gently pat dry with a clean cloth or tissue.

What you will notice in the first 14 days:

• Redness is normal for the first few days. To relieve the swelling, you can cool the area with soft gel ice packs.

• A slight stinging sensation in the first few days is also normal.

• Eyebrows will start to form scabs and they might look dark and thick. As the skin heals, the scabs will fall off in random pieces throughout the brow and might look patchy throughout the week. Flaking and crusting of the skin may occur.

• The color will appear faded when the flaking/scabs fall off. This is completely normal. Do not feel discouraged if the fading is more than you expected. The color may re-emerge and become darker 1-2 weeks after ALL the scabs fall off.

After-Care PMU Directions

Absorb (Day Of)

• After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid.

• Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped.

• Removing this fluid prevents the hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

Wash (Day 1-7)

• Wash daily to remove bacteria, build-up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)

• Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser like Dial Soap, Cetaphil, or baby shampoo. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area.

• Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.

• To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.

Moisturize and Hydrate (Days 1-7)

• Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of the aftercare provided 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.

• Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.

• NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.

After-Care PMU  Tips

It is best to understand that having a PMU procedure takes some planning and sacrifice, keep these tips in mind while booking. (Be sure to book accordingly to your plans and schedule.) These 10 tips help to ensure the best result.

  4. Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.

  5. Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 28 days after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

  7. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

  8. Avoid swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 14 days.

  9. Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area for 14 days.
